Xiamen Botanical Garden is a botanical garden encircling the Wanshi Rock Reservoir. Within the garden, one can observe a variety of rare plant landscapes, such as Chinese Pines, Japanese Gold Pines, Araucarias, and uniquely shaped cacti, making it a popular spot for photography. In addition to the flora, the garden also features numerous stone carvings, lakes, lawns, and temples. Arranged according to the types of plants cultivated, the garden includes specialized areas such as the Succulent Zone, Cactus Zone, Gymnosperm Zone, Palm Island, Rose Garden, Desert Plant Zone, and Rainforest World.

Among these, the Rainforest World and Desert Plant Zone are particularly worth visiting. Although the Rainforest World is man-made, the misty atmosphere combined with beautiful tropical rainforest scenery makes it appear as if it were a fairyland. The Desert Plant Zone showcases many peculiar cacti. Besides the plants, the garden is also known for attractions such as ‘Taiping Stone Smile’, ‘Wanshi Han Cui’, and Tianjie Temple.

The main entrance to the garden is on the west side, also known as the West Gate. After entering, one can soon see the Araucaria Lawn. Visitors can take an electric cart to tour the garden, which allows for on-and-off boarding at any point. The garden is open from October 8th to April 30th from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM; from May 1st to October 7th from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
