Xiamen Customs Communication Tower Site Introduction

The former site of Xiamen Customs Communication Tower is located at Guxin Road, Gulangyu Street, Siming District, Xiamen. It dates back to 1933 – 1935.
There are two steel – framed iron towers in the south and north, about 50 meters apart. They were built from March 1933 to July 1935.


The iron towers have concrete square bases. The side length of the base of the north tower is 6.1 meters, and that of the south tower is 5.7 meters. The tower body tapers inward as it goes up, with a total height of about 45 meters. Small telecommunications transmission facilities are installed on the top of the towers.


There is still a single – storey management building beside the south tower. Facing south, it is 20 meters long from east to west and 12 meters wide from north to south. It has a four – sloped corrugated roof and is partitioned into several rooms inside.
