The Xiamen Special Economic Zone Memorial Hall allows people to seem like traveling through a time tunnel with over a thousand pictures and hundreds of cultural relics. They can relive the historical process of Xiamen’s development from a coastal small town to an important central city on the west side of the Taiwan Strait during the 30 years of reform and opening up and the 27 years of the construction of the special economic zone.
The Xiamen Special Economic Zone Memorial Hall is a historical thematic museum established to commemorate the 30th anniversary of reform and opening up and the 27th anniversary of the construction of the Xiamen Special Economic Zone. The museum consists of two main parts: the exhibition hall and “Glorious Years – The Historical Exhibition of the Construction of the Xiamen Special Economic Zone”.


The exhibition hall is located on the second floor on the west side of the memorial hall. It is the commemorative site where Comrade inscribed the glorious inscription “Make the special economic zone develop faster and better” for the Xiamen Special Economic Zone on February 9, 1984.


The “Glorious Years – The Historical Exhibition of the Construction of the Xiamen Special Economic Zone” is divided into the founding stage, development stage, stage of creating new advantages, and the stage of a new round of leapfrog development of the Xiamen Special Economic Zone. With a large number of precious historical pictures and historical relics, combined with scene restoration, model making and multimedia audio – visual technology, the exhibition comprehensively displays the earth – shaking changes and brilliant achievements made during the reform and opening up, especially during the 27 years of the construction of the Xiamen Special Economic Zone.


Opening hours: Open from 09:00 – 16:30, Tuesday – Sunday throughout the year
