Xiamen Zoo, situated within the confines of Zhongshan Park in Xiamen, was originally established in 1942 and spans an area of approximately 6800 square meters. The zoo is home to around 50 different species and over 230 animals, which are categorized into three distinct sections: the Predator Zone, the Aviary, and the Small Animal Zone. Visitors can marvel at an array of wildlife including various species of monkeys, ostriches, peacocks, pythons, bears, lizards, and the rare Northeast Tiger. The zoo is open to the public year-round from 08:00 to 17:30, with specific operational status subject to daily opening conditions.
