Xiangma River Rafting in Chongqing’s Qijiang district is a natural river area around the main urban area of Chongqing, suitable for family outings where children over three years old can experience rafting.
The scenic area is located at the junction of Songzao, Yuqian, and Guizhou, originating from the towering mountains of northern Guizhou. It controls the throat of Sichuan and Guizhou, and has been a must-pass place for merchants and logistics since ancient times. The treacherous terrain and dense vegetation have made it an ideal place for bandits to harm passing merchants and engage in highway robbery.

Especially during the times of dynastic changes when the official army had no time to care, bandits thrived here, using a valley on the right bank of the river in the deep gorges and high valleys, filled with large and small caves, as their hiding place and treasure trove. Over time, the original name of this waterway, Yan River, was renamed and called Xiangma River by merchants from all directions.
