Xiangshan Commercial Culture Museum, a branch of the Zhongshan Museum, is one of its subsidiaries. It is the first commercial culture-themed museum in China. The museum is located at the former site of the Shiqi Town General Chamber of Commerce in the 1940s, which is No. 152 Sun Wen West Road, Zhongshan City, a cultural tourism pedestrian street. The museum was officially established on December 15, 2003. After several years of collection and preparation of exhibits, and construction of the exhibition hall, it was completed and officially opened to the public on January 17, 2006. It is a comprehensive modern thematic museum integrating visits, leisure, tourism, and commemoration. In December 2007, the Xiangshan Commercial Culture Museum was selected by the Guangdong Provincial Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture, and the Guangdong Provincial Tourism Bureau as one of the first batch of ‘Chinese Cultural Heritage Bases’ in the province.
