Xiangxi Yi Village is located in the eastern part of Songyang County, in the southwest of Zhejiang Province, 20 kilometers away from the county town. The beautiful Songyin River flows through the village, dividing the region of Xiangxi Town into the ‘Tai Chi Yin Yang’ with its ‘S’ shaped course, and Xiangxi Yi Village is situated at the end of the ‘Xiangxi Tai Chi Bay’.
Several cobblestone alleys, ancient buildings such as the Governor’s Residence, ancestral halls, Wenchang Pavilion, and the Social Public Temple are still preserved in the village. Above the dock is the Yuantan Temple, also known as the Tiger Temple, which was once the place where Zhu Xi lectured. Here, visitors can ‘travel’ from modern architecture to ancient dwellings, understanding the historical and cultural depth where many scholars gathered, and feeling the unceasing inheritance of traditional culture by the villagers. The village is open all year round and is accessible 24/7.Must Read
