Xianhu Scenic Area is located in the middle section of the northern foot of Dananshan Mountain within Xiancheng Town. It is 13 kilometers away from Chengnan District of Chaonan. There are many cultural sites from the late Neolithic Age in the scenic area. There is also the former site of the military camp where national hero Zheng Chenggong stationed his troops to resist the Qing Dynasty at the end of the Ming Dynasty.
It is surrounded by mountains and water. The lake and mountain scenery is beautiful with natural scenery. There are many scenic spots in Xianhu Scenic Area. In the eastern area, there are Tianshan Longquan, Penglai Xianyuan, Cai Xing Gong Zhao, Tianyun Tower, and Dongtian Fudi (Chongde Courtyard). In the southern area, there is Nanji Shenghui (Nanchen Palace), cultural relics exhibition hall, Zheng Chenggong monument, flower base, and Wanlei Xianchang (release pond). In the western area, there are Purple Bamboo Forest Garden, Bagua Pavilion Tower, My Buddha’s Mercy, folk temple path, Yaochi Taoist altar, Nanhai Cihang (Dharma ship), Fuhai Bridge Pavilion, and Conversion Hall. In the northern area, there are Longhumen Lake scenery, Lin Mo Sacred Temple, Beidou God of Longevity (Beidou Palace), Yiyangleyuan (welfare home), and ancient people’s cemetery. The reflection of Xianhu Lake is a unique natural landscape of Xianhu Scenic Area. The main scenic area of Xianhu backs on Liangshan Mountain and faces Xianhu Lake and Jinxi Reservoir. There are mountains and water. If the weather is fine, the lake is like a mirror. In the reflection of the water, there are mountains, trees, clouds, and pavilions and terraces with flowing colors. Green mountains reflect clear water. The mountains and water complement each other, giving people the reverie of ‘Liangshan Mountain holds a mirror to reflect one’s appearance’.
