Xianju Bridge: A Renowned Taisun Covered Bridge

Xianju Bridge is one of the famous Taisun covered bridges. It is located in Xianju Village, Xianrui Township, Taishun County, 20 miles away from the county town. The bridge was originally constructed in the fourth year of the Jingtai era of the Ming Dynasty (1453) and has undergone four reconstructions throughout history. The bridge was destroyed due to flooding each time. The current bridge was rebuilt in the twelfth year of Emperor Kangxi’s reign in the Qing Dynasty, with a total length of 41.83 meters, a width of 4.89 meters, a height of 12.6 meters, and a span of 34.14 meters. It is a flat-hole wooden arch covered bridge. The bridge is open all year round, available for visits 24 hours a day.
