Xiao Shi Island

Xiao Shi Island is located in the northwest of Weihai city, between Shi Dao Port and Shi Dao Beach. It is named for its abundance of rocks. The island consists of two parts: the larger island to the west, known as Shi Island, and the smaller island between the larger island and the mainland, known as Li Island. The two islands are connected by a reef. The island runs east-west and is approximately oval-shaped. The coastline is 1.25 kilometers long, with a rugged and steep basalt coast, and there are reefs distributed offshore. It is a continental island, composed of the Archean Jiaodong rock group’s biotite schist. The island is covered with pine trees and weeds, but there is no water source. The north coast is steep, with sea-eroded caves known as Shuilongwo. At the top, there is a triangular surveying and mapping marker. The island is open to visitors year-round from 08:00 to 17:00 each day.
