The Xiaobu Town scenic area is located throughout Xiaobu Town. Xiaobu was originally named Xiaopu. It is one of the earliest established towns in southern Jiangxi. Its history can be traced back to the Southern Song Dynasty. The scenic area is located in the northwest of Ningdu County, Ganzhou City, covering an area of 152.6 square kilometers. Three expressways, Changning, Guangji, and Xinggan, pass through it.

It has convenient transportation. It is 60 kilometers away from the county seat, 145 kilometers away from Ganzhou, and 245 kilometers away from Nanchang. It is a ‘4A-level scenic area’, a ‘national health town’, a ‘national characteristic town’, and a ‘national barrier-free environment demonstration town’. It is also one of the ‘top ten leisure tourism towns in Jiangxi Province’, the fifth ‘civilized villages and towns in Jiangxi Province’, a ‘water ecological civilization villages and towns in Jiangxi Province’, and one of the first batch of ‘beautiful villages’.

Xiaobu is movingly red. It is the birthplace of the Central Bureau of the Soviet Area of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese Soviet Revolutionary Military Commission. It is the birthplace of the first radio reconnaissance station of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army. It is the political and military command center for the first, second, and third counter-encirclement campaigns. Various organs during the Central Soviet Area period such as the General Rear Hospital of the Red Army, the General Political Department, and the General Traffic Team were stationed here.

There is currently 1 key cultural relic protection unit, 3 provincial-level cultural relic protection units, and 18 county-level cultural relic protection units, as well as more than 500 various slogans and cultural relics. The cradle of the Central Soviet Area set out step by step from here, to Ruijin, then to Yan’an, and finally to Beijing. Xiaobu is refreshingly green. The Lingyun mountain range mainly composed of Goudaozui, Lumu Peak, Miaoling Mountain and other peaks are stacked with barriers and the sea of clouds is magnificent.

The forest coverage rate reaches 83.5%. The Yanbeinao Waterfall hangs upside down like a white silk ribbon and falls continuously for a hundred-meter cliff; the Qimujing colorful waterfall is colorful and there is a secluded bamboo forest; there is a ten-thousand-mu sightseeing tea garden where you can taste the fragrant tea; the Thermal Bay Hot Spring and Flower Sea Health and Recreation Resort is a place for leisure and recreation.

Xiaobu is thick with ancient charm. There are many Hakka historical sites and Hakka folk customs remaining. The second-largest Wanshou Palace in Jiangxi Province, built during the Jiaqing period, stands majestically. The temple fair is crowded with people and the incense is flourishing. The Hengjie Street, Yuhang Ancient Street, and Doushi Lane make tourists feel as if they are in ‘Along the River During the Qingming Festival’.

The Taixia wall, the Ming and Qing architectural complex in Shaofang, and the wooden door of Xiaochuan have become witnesses of the dusty history. The simple people of Xiaobu have passed down intangible cultural heritages such as the Lanskirt Troupe, dragon lanterns, tea basket lanterns, Nuo opera, and Hakka weddings and funerals from ancient times until now. Open all year round and open all day.
