The Xiaodongying Mosque has a long history and excellent cultural traditions. Since its establishment, it has always had religious education in the mosque hall. In addition, there is also a funeral service office. Although there are few plaques in the Dongying Mosque, it still has undeniable historical value. Moreover, the Dongying Mosque has also made certain contributions to Guangzhou’s education cause. According to the Yuehua Weekly in 1948, Imam Ma Jixian of the Dongying Mosque established a religious primary school in the mosque, with more than 20 students. This religious primary school is now the Yuehua Road Primary School. Located next to the Dongying Mosque, it has developed into one of the important education bases in Yuexiu District.
