Xiaogang Park is located at the southwestern end of Qianjin Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou City. It is a park mainly featuring bamboo forests. Completed in 1975, it is named after the ancient Xiaogang Bridge in the park by taking homophonic sounds. With a total area of 167,000 square meters, it is a park with a large number of ornamental bamboos planted in Guangzhou. The Mayong River, which traverses the south of Henan Province and connects the front and rear channels of the Pearl River, divides this park into two parts, north and south.


It is located in the southern section of Qianjin Road. It was originally a river course, swamp and hillock. Because there is the ancient Xiaogang Bridge in the park. The water area is 47,300 square meters. There are numerous bamboo embankments in the park, and there are as many as 120 varieties of bamboo. The river course passes through the park, with artificial lakes and beautiful and elegant pavilions, terraces, corridors and waterside pavilions.


In addition, there are also ancient bridges and marine erosion rock sites with a history of more than 400 years. The gardening art of Xiaogang Park adopts the traditional Chinese landscape gardening layout method, skillfully integrating recreational and viewing facilities with poetic and picturesque landscapes. Build mountains on high slopes and dig ponds on low platforms, making the mountains alive with water and the water charming with mountains, complementing each other.


The park is equipped with flower pavilions, pavilions, waterside pavilions, flower racks, bridges, landscape stones and other scenic spots. Hundreds of species of trees and shrubs such as bamboo, banyan, kapok, crape myrtle, bauhinia, oleander and osmanthus are widely planted. Among them, bamboo is planted more, with more than 100 varieties such as Bambusa vulgaris ‘Vittata’, Bambusa multiplex ‘Riviereorum’, Phyllostachys heterocycla ‘Pubescens’, Bambusa multiplex ‘Lacrima-deae’.


When a gentle breeze passes by, dragons and phoenixes dance on the ridges, forming the park’s landscape characteristics of swaying jasper in the air and rustling bamboo paths, giving people a quiet and elegant enjoyment.
