Xiaoshan Park, originally built in December 1995, was designed by the Landscape Planning and Architectural Design Institute of Beijing Forestry University and constructed by the Changshu Classical Garden Construction Company. The park covers an area of 100,000 square meters and is classified as a medium-sized comprehensive park.

Built according to the natural terrain, the park features structures such as the Guancang Tower, Xin Gang Pavilion, Lan Yue Tower, Shen Yun Pavilion, and Yilan Pavilion, all arranged in an orderly fashion. Among them, the Guancang Tower on the mountaintop is inscribed with the words ‘Jie Tian’ and ‘Yu Sun’, written by the renowned calligrapher Mr. Han Tianheng. On the central rock face of the cliff, there is a giant ‘dragon’ character covering tens of square meters, surrounded by nearly 2,000 smaller ‘dragon’ characters inscribed in stone.

On the northern foot of the mountain, there are structures such as the Zuimei Pavilion, Wu’ai Pavilion, Yilan Pavilion, and Pinhuai Pavilion, which enclose a corridor. The names of the pavilions and couplets in the garden are all the work of famous artists and writers. For example, the north gate has phrases like ‘Gathering three rivers and connecting four seas, the great harbor is indeed grand; close to the outpost, enjoying the beautiful scenery, the small hill is not small’ and ‘Water like a zither, wind like a flute, mountains as a courtyard, and the sea as a neighbor’. The west gate has phrases like ‘A place of rest, spring follows human will; mountains snuggle clear streams, and benefit from crossing great rivers’.

The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the park’s daily opening conditions.
