The Xiaosi Ancestral Hall is located in Lang’er Village, Huatan Township. It was first built in 1488, the first year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty. This ancestral hall is large in scale and exquisitely made, and is a typical building of the Ming Dynasty. The ancestral hall faces east and occupies an area of 1200 square meters. It is composed of a screen wall, a foyer, two side halls, a stage, and a main hall. It has a width of 17.82 meters and a depth of 37.4 meters. There are three groups of double-leaf doors on the east side, and the middle door is used as a passage by grooving the base. The stage is located in the middle, in a single-room pavilion style. The ceiling is equipped with an octagonal caisson and five levels of brackets. The beams and columns of the main hall are made of thick materials, and most of the column bases are made of wood. The column capitals of the 12 main and secondary columns are flush, commonly known as ‘twelve flats’, which is rare in other buildings.
