The Shilong Scenic Area on Xiaoyangshan Island is characterized by the strange rocks all over the island. The scenic area covers an area of about 1.5 square kilometers and has four observation decks connected by a more than 2,600-meter tourist route. After long years of sun and rain and wave erosion, the surface of the rocks on the island gradually differentiates, forming a group of stone landscapes in various poses. In the scenic area, along the kilometer-long mountain path, dangerous cliffs are on both sides, and strange stones follow. There is a scene every ten steps and a view every five steps. Dozens of stone landscapes such as ‘tortoise and snake stone’, ‘camel stone’, and ‘dog stone’ are vivid and dazzling. Among the many stone landscapes, the ‘Shilong wonder’ is the first to be recommended, which is also the origin of the name of the Shilong scenic area. ‘Shilong’ is two natural huge stones, about more than 100 meters long, with the head facing west and the tail facing east. The upper and lower two stones are winding and stacked horizontally, one female and one male. According to legend, the two dragons were sent by the Dragon King of the East Sea to guard the sea area of Yangshan. Due to growing affection over time and slackening in their duties, they allowed sea monsters to cause disasters. The Heavenly Emperor was enraged and ordered Lei Gong to punish the two dragons. When struck by lightning, the female dragon was infatuated and jumped and lay on top of the male dragon, preparing to die for love. Lei Gong was moved by this and only blinded one eye of the female dragon. Although the male dragon was under the female dragon, it was just broken in the middle. Looking at its current state, it is indeed broken in the middle, which can be called a wonder.
