Xiazhi Island is located near Taohua Island. The highest point on the island, Jia’ao Mountain, has an altitude of 207 meters. The coastline is 57.02 kilometers long. The island runs from northwest to southeast. The island is long and narrow like a shrimp. Because it is shaped like a shrimp floating on the sea and there are many coves, forming a situation of confrontation at corners, it is named Xiazhi Island.

In addition to natural landscapes such as strange peaks, unique rocks, fishing ports, and blue seas, Xiazhi Island’s tourism resources also include historical relics and sites such as Qingliang Nunnery with a history of nearly 200 years and the commemorative plaque of ‘Brave Defenders Against Bandits’ commemorating eight fishermen who sacrificed themselves in the fight against pirates more than 120 years ago.

The opening hours are subject to the actual opening situation on the day.
