Xifeng Island, resembling a peak on the west side of Zhujiajian Island, is aptly named ‘Xifeng’. On the east side of Xifeng Island, there is a harbor that provides shelter for vessels from the westerly winds, hence it is also known as ‘West Wind Island’.
At the southern tip of the island, the constant erosion by the sea tides has sculpted many rocks into peculiar landscapes. Chuanbi Cave and Xiang Cave are among the notable attractions. Chuanbi Cave, as the name suggests, is a cave that resembles a nostril. The entrance is approximately 5 meters wide and 7 meters high, allowing small boats to pass through freely. Similar to a nose shape, the cave narrows as one ventures deeper. Do not panic; hold your flashlight, illuminate the path, and continue steadfastly, as the nutrient-rich, damp cliff walls inside are home to various delicious shellfish, a reward for your adventurous spirit!
As for Xiang Cave, it lives up to its name, featuring a massive rock that looks like an elephant with its trunk hanging down, seemingly about to cross the sea to the east but stopping, perhaps because the elephant knows: going further would mean crossing the national border.
The island is strewn with strange reefs and rocks, and the reefs are covered with sea snails. Collecting these sea snails along the way is an endless joy. One can only wish not to be Doraemon, unable to put all the shellfish and sea snails into the magical pocket that has no limits.
The island is open all year round, accessible 24/7, with specific operational status subject to daily opening conditions.
