The Xijiang River flows through the entire territory of Zhaoqing, with its northern bank being the urban area of Zhaoqing and the southern bank being the Gaoyao district. This section of the river boasts beautiful scenery and numerous historical sites, which can be visited by boat tours.
The main attractions of the Xijiang River are included in the ‘Three Gorges’ of Lingyangxia, Dadingxia, and Sanrongxia, among which the famous site is ‘Yan Zhu Qingfeng’. It is said that when Bao Gong left Duanzhou, the people, grateful for his achievements, presented him with a Duan inkstone. Bao Gong, known for his integrity, refused the gift and threw it into the Xijiang River. The inkstone turned into an islet, which the locals called ‘Yan Zhou Island’ in memory of Bao Gong, and built a temple for him on the island. This place is later referred to as ‘Yan Zhu Qingfeng’. In addition, the ‘Three Gorges of Xijiang’ also feature attractions such as Ling Xia Gui Fan, Tao Xi Xi Zhao, Bai Sha Ye Yue, and Rong Xia Diao Tai.
The Xijiang River has excellent water quality and its clear, green waters are rich in delicious river delicacies. Visitors who come to this area year-round can enjoy the delicious river delicacies produced by the Xijiang River. The opening hours are subject to the actual operating status of the day.
