The Xikou Museum was established in the Spring Festival of 1988. Initially, it was located in Wushan Temple, a famous scenic spot in Xikou. It is a folk custom-themed museum in eastern Zhejiang. The Xikou Museum is located in Wushan Temple at the eastern end of Xikou Town, Fenghua City, at the foot of Wushan Mountain. The basic exhibition is divided into four exhibition halls: The first exhibition hall is ‘Fairyland Xuedou’, which is a humanistic appreciation of ‘the first mountain in Siming’ and Xikou with a history of thousands of years.

The second exhibition hall is ‘Clouds over Wuling’. The physical exhibits on display include Sun Yat-sen’s commemorative medal for the transfer of his coffin, Sun Yat-sen’s tomb brick, Sun Yat-sen’s plaque of ‘Guang Ci Bo Ai’, and He Yingqin’s plaque of ‘Xiao You Guang Ming’.

The third exhibition hall is ‘Customs of Shan River Source’, which is a unique interpretation of the folk customs of Xikou and even eastern Zhejiang in the late Qing Dynasty. The exhibition design is centered around creating an atmosphere, highlighting key points, and using multiple means such as multimedia, physical landscaping, and wax figures. By using strong visual colors, it creates lively scenes of festivals and weddings. The key display is Fenghua’s festival activity ‘Rice Flower Fair’, as well as the ten-mile red dowry for women getting married in eastern Zhejiang. The exhibited collections include ship drums, drum pavilions, thousand-crafts beds, bridal sedans, and various daily utensils for girls getting married.

The fourth exhibition hall is ‘Remaining Charm of Treasures’, which is a centralized display of the fine cultural relics of Fenghua over thousands of years.

Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:30 to 17:00. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
