Xingcheng Folk Museum is a comprehensive private-run museum. Reconstructed in September 2016 and opened to the public in 2017, it is located in the southeast corner of the ancient city, adjacent to the Confucius Temple and the General’s Mansion. The museum houses over 20 thematic halls with nearly 5,000 exhibits, including folk shadow puppetry, Liaoxi dinosaurs, various insects, animal and plant fossils, rare stones, meteorites, ancient coins, ceramics, ancient furniture, ethnic culture, red culture, and tools from the Neolithic and Paleolithic eras, taking you on a journey through time to understand the ancient Bohai Bay civilization.
It is not only a window for cultural exchange in the ancient city but also an important place for students to learn and experience. The museum is equipped with a photo experience room, providing various ancient costumes and props for visitors to take commemorative photos. We welcome your visit and thank you!
Opening hours are from 09:00 to 17:00 all year round, with specific business conditions subject to the day’s opening status.
Preferential policies: Children: Children aged 6 (inclusive) and under 1.2 meters (inclusive) in height enter for free with family accompaniment. Elderly: Those aged 70 (inclusive) and above enter for free with their ID, but require one person to accompany at half price. Companions: 12.5 yuan. Military personnel: Conscripts and disabled veterans enter for free with valid identification.
