Xingcheng Seaside Scenic Area is located in Xinghai Bay along the east coast of Xingcheng urban area. It is a natural beach about 1.5 kilometers long. Situated on the northern coast of the Bohai Sea, the beach here has a gentle slope and is wide, with clean water quality. There are several seawater bathing beaches and various water entertainment facilities.
Every summer, numerous tourists come here to swim, catch seafood at low tide, sunbathe, or the whole family comes to enjoy seafood. It is also a great place to shoot the sunrise. When you come to the roundabout at the southern section of Binhaigong Road in the east of Xingcheng urban area, you will see a memorial archway. This is the entrance to the seaside. You can see the statue of Juhuaniang standing by the sea, telling a touching mythological story.
The beach in the bathing beach is soft, and there are no hidden reefs in the water, making it suitable for swimming and playing in the water. You can also take a speedboat ride (the price is relatively high and negotiable). Every summer, you can see the bustling scene of people by the sea. However, different from the beaches in the south, the sand here is relatively coarser. The changing and shower service here costs about 15 yuan per person, and the parking fee is 10 yuan for cars and 20 yuan for large vehicles.
To the north of the beach is the cruise ship terminal. You can take a boat to Juhua Island from here, which takes about 40 minutes by boat. At the southern end of the beach, there is a famous scenic spot ‘Viewing the Wonders of the Three Reefs’. On each of the three reefs in the sea, there is an elegantly shaped sea-viewing pavilion – a long pavilion on the water. The pavilions are connected by a trestle bridge. You can climb up the pavilions to watch the tides and listen to the waves, or come in the morning to watch the sunrise. Some people also fish here in peace, which is very pleasant. If you catch the ebb tide, after the inner seawater recedes, the beach is half-hidden and half-exposed. You can also pick up shells and catch crabs, full of fun.
There are many open-air barbecue stalls by the seaside, and there are also many seafood restaurants nearby. You can taste various kinds of seafood, and the prices are acceptable. The seaside, Xingcheng Ancient City, and seafood are the three business cards of Xingcheng. For a one-day tour in Xingcheng, you can visit the ancient city in the morning, go to the seaside in the afternoon, and enjoy seafood in the evening. Of course, if you have more time, you can also go to Juhua Island for a visit.
