When it comes to the ancient temples of Jinan City, people immediately think of Shentong Temple, Lingyan Temple, and Xingguo Temple, among others. However, Xingfu Temple, located in Xiaoyinmazhuang, Jinan, has also withstood the test of time over a thousand years yet remains lesser-known. According to records, Xingfu Temple was first established during the Song Dynasty, destroyed in the Yuan Dynasty, and reconstructed in the eighth year of the Hongzhi era of the Ming Dynasty. After its completion, the temple underwent renovations in the seventh year of the Wanli era (1579), the fiftieth year of the Kangxi era (1711), and the twenty-second year of the Qianlong era (1757). The temple is characterized by its high architectural standards, with both the main hall and the rear hall featuring hip-and-gable roofs, a feature unique among small temples in Jinan. The opening hours are subject to the temple’s daily operational status.
