Built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty to commemorate the national hero Wen Tianxiang, this ancestral hall has been well-preserved to this day. ‘Xingguo Duke’ is the posthumous title of Wen Tianxiang, who was appointed as the Left Prime Minister and Chief of the Privy Council by Emperor Duanzong of the Song Dynasty at the beginning of the Jingyan era, overseeing military forces in various regions. The ‘Xingguo Duke Wen’s Ancestral Hall’ in Nantou is a significant historical monument, one of the better-preserved and larger-scale ancient buildings in Nantou City. It is open all year round and available 24/7, with specific business hours subject to daily opening conditions.
