Xinhepu is a place located in Dongshan, Guangzhou, China. It is famous for its ‘small Western-style buildings in Dongshan’ and is the old luxury residential area in Guangzhou. The area of Xinhepu is roughly bounded by Dadao Road in the east, Junyi Road in the west, Miaoqian West Street, Miaoqian Zhijie Street, Sibei Tongjin and the land used by Guangzhou Railway Bureau in the north, and Donghua East Road, Xinhepu Yong and Dongshan Lake Park in the south. It covers an area of about 62.9 hectares and there are a total of 493 historical buildings. The Xinhepu area was once a settlement for overseas Chinese, wealthy businessmen and political dignitaries. The residential buildings here are in the pattern of Western-style garden villas. The existing large-scale modern building complex combining Chinese and Western styles in low-rise courtyard style in Guangzhou is located here. Like the Xiguan big houses in the west of the city (Xiguan), it is one of the two typical traditional dwellings in Guangzhou. Most of the historical protected buildings in Xinhepu are independent low-rise residences, mostly imitating Western classical buildings. The main architectural features are clear water red brick walls and Western-style styles. There are four representative buildings, namely Chunyuan, Jianyuan, Kuiyuan and Mingyuan on Peizheng Road. Open all year round and open all day.
