The Xinhui Academy, now known as the Xinhui Museum, houses a collection of over 5000 pieces, including famous paintings, ancient bronzes, and ancient ceramics. It is one of the larger and richer county-level museums in the Jiangmen area and within the province, with a high level of exhibition. The museum has been designated as a patriotic education base in Xinhui City. The exhibitions primarily focus on the museum’s collection, along with other special exhibitions such as the ‘Imperial Objects Exhibition from the Palace Museum in Beijing,’ ‘Ancient Coins Exhibition from the Excavation at Huicheng Zhenxing Third Road,’ and ‘Museum Collection of Calligraphy and Ceramics Exhibition,’ as well as exhibitions in the fields of fine arts, photography, calligraphy, furniture, and student crafts. Also known as the Confucius Temple, Xinhui Academy was originally built in the fourth year of the Qingli period of the Northern Song Dynasty and was destroyed by war in the early Yuan Dynasty. The existing buildings were reconstructed in 1956 based on the Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:00, closed all day on Monday.
