Xishan Temple is located on Xishan Mountain in Shiqi, Zhongshan City. Also known as Renshou Zen Temple, it was built during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty and was initially used as a study. Later, it was rebuilt into a temple. Since the Qing Dynasty, it has undergone renovations and has a history of more than 400 years. It is a serene Buddhist place highly respected by Zhongshan citizens. The construction area of Xishan Temple exceeds 1,300 square meters. The incense is extremely prosperous. During the ‘Cultural Revolution’, most of the cultural relics in the temple were lost and the monks scattered. Only a couplet in front of the gate, ‘The old shade of kapok, the blessed land shines again’, and the vigorous calligraphy horizontal plaque ‘Renshou Zen Temple’ were spared. In October 1988, the ancient temple was rebuilt and opened to the public for tourists to visit. Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:30 to 17:00.
