Lan Xiu Cultural Museum is located in Beipu, Xiu Shan Township, Dai Shan County. Its predecessor was the ‘Tianqu Garden’ root carving and bonsai art exhibition hall. It was renovated from an old residential courtyard of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and is a quadrangle with a wooden and earth structure and an ancient charm. The museum collects more than 200 pieces of calligraphy and paintings by celebrities such as Xu Zhikang, Yang Jianwei, and Ni Zhuqing, as well as wood furniture, bonsai, and root carvings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, which are a true portrayal of the local customs and historical changes of Xiu Shan. Xiu Shan Beach Cluster is located in the eastern part of the scenic area, composed of three beaches connected end-to-end, forming a crescent shape with a gentle slope. The sea area is calm, with many reefs and rich marine algae. Various fish, crabs, and shellfish such as swimming crabs, copper basin fish, and tiger head fish live and inhabit in this sea area and among the reefs. At the turn of summer and autumn, groups of tiger head fish and squid fish come to the beach and reefs to spawn. Tourists can catch them by themselves and then barbecue them by themselves, enjoying a lot of fun. Changshou Zen Temple is a large-scale religious sacred place on Xiu Shan Island, known far and wide in the eastern part of Zhejiang. Near the entrance of the scenic area, a group of simple buildings with green tiles and yellow walls in the green mountains is ‘Changshou Ancient Temple’. The Zen temple is not large, with a total area of about more than 3,000 square meters, arranged in three rows, with the central axis being the front and back three halls. The front hall is the Hall of the Heavenly Kings, and the main hall is the Mahavira Hall, with the same enshrinement pattern as other halls, with the main Buddha Shakyamuni, and the left and right attendant Amitabha and Medicine Buddha, all of which are standing statues. Behind the hall are three stupas, made of Wenling jade stone, containing the relics of the three generations of ancestors of Changshou Temple. The stupas are not tall, with a round body and a pointed top, exquisite and elegant, and under the cover of green mountains and trees, they appear spiritual and solemn.
