Xixin Pavilion is located within the renowned scenic area of Yunqi Bamboo Path in Hangzhou. The Yunqi Bamboo Path is situated to the west of West Lake, to the north of Jiuxi, and at the foot of Wuyun Mountain. During the Jin Dynasty, Wuyun Temple was established here, which was later built and abandoned repeatedly until it eventually fell into ruins. Within the bamboo path, one can find the Xixin Pavilion, which, although not an ancient relic, is charming and elegant. The name Xixin implies that the heart is of utmost importance and cleansing is essential. In ancient times, there were virtuous hermits who lived in the mountains, and when friends visited and invited them to take office, upon hearing such vulgar words, they hurriedly ran to the spring to wash their ears; there were also fishermen who tamed eagles and herons, coming and going on the river, where the allure of the moon and wind tempted them to join in, and in such cases, they simply sat in the water to wash their feet. The hermit and the fisherman considered the mountain life as pure and the secular life as impure. Only in the pure realm can one find the thousand turns of springs and stones, the myriad scrolls of mist and clouds, caves to dwell in, vines for beds, the remnants of chess games that pass the day, and the noisy autumn rain that lasts all night; only in the impure realm can one find a thousand appearances, ten thousand charms, power to grasp, profit to seek, beauties who can topple a nation with a smile, and delicacies that one never tires of eating. Sighing at the world of mortals, where purity and impurity form two distinct heavens. Washing the ears and washing the feet, one should cherish oneself. The Xixin Pavilion is open all year round and accessible at all times, with specific business hours subject to daily opening conditions.
