Xudi is located in the central part of Guangzhou city, to the north of Gaodi Street and adjacent to Yudai Canal. Since the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1736-1795), it has been the settlement place for the Xu family, hence the name. Among the well-known streets in Beijing Road and Gaodi Street, Xudi stands out due to its association with the Xu family. The stories of many distinguished members of the Xu family provide a glimpse into the political vicissitudes of China over the past century.

The ‘Baiting Xu Doctor’s Family Temple’ in Xudi allows visitors to reminisce about the rise of the Xu family here. The rise and fall of the Xu family, as well as the experiences of various well-known figures, are a typical reflection of the changes in Chinese society. Visitors can see the former residences of some heroes in Xudi. The opening hours are subject to the daily operation status.
