Xuegong, also known as the Confucian Temple or Kong Temple, is located on the western side of Mashan in Huicheng. It covers an area of 12,189 square meters with a construction area of 3,225 square meters. The academy was originally built in the fourth year of the Qingli period of the Song Dynasty (1044 AD), modeled after the Confucian Temple in Qufu, Shandong, and adapted to local conditions.
During the Yuan Dynasty, the academy was destroyed by war and was later reconstructed in the Ming Dynasty. It has been renovated through various dynasties. In 1956, in addition to restoring the existing buildings, the Jimei (Dacheng Gate), the eastern and western repositories, the two corridors, and the Zun Jing Pavilion, as well as the ‘Dao He’ and ‘Lv Zhong’ halls were rebuilt on the original site. In recent years, the main entrance hall of the academy has been refurbished and decorated using ancient architectural techniques. It is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:00; closed all day on Mondays. The specific business status is subject to the daily opening conditions.Must Read
