Xuhui Art Museum is a public cultural institution located in Xuhui District, Shanghai, dedicated to hosting art exhibitions, conducting academic research, collecting fine art pieces, and popularizing aesthetic education. Established in 1932 as the ‘Hongying Library’, it is situated on the bustling Huaihai Road. In July 2005, it was designated as a district-level cultural heritage site and underwent comprehensive restoration, officially opening to the public on December 17, 2005.


The museum’s main building is a three-story brick and concrete structure, featuring a garden villa with red brick arches in the exhibition halls and original wooden staircases, showcasing an elegant style that complements high-quality art exhibitions, making it a rare and exquisite art palace on Huaihai Road. The exhibition area of Xuhui Art Museum spans 600 square meters, divided into two levels, and includes display rooms, multimedia audio-visual areas, art salon corners, and service desks, providing comprehensive and high-quality services for artists and visitors.


As a professional art gallery with influence in Shanghai and nationwide, Xuhui Art Museum is known for its high-quality art exhibitions and has been active in the Shanghai art scene since its opening. It has attracted a large number of renowned artists from Europe, America, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, as well as from within China. The museum has collected a significant number of works from contemporary art masters, providing excellent conditions for academic research. Opening hours are all year round: Tuesday-Sunday 09:00-17:00; Chinese New Year’s Eve 09:00-11:30; Chinese New Year 09:00-17:00.
