The Tung Chao Yung Shipping Museum is located in the new Zhongyuan building of Jiaotong University. The two-story Western-style building, with a central courtyard, served as an early student dormitory and has a history of over 90 years, filled with the vicissitudes of history. The exhibition area spans 600 square meters, housing the China Shipping History Museum (first floor) and the Tung Chao Yung Exhibition Room (second floor), which will be permanently displayed. The China Shipping History Museum reflects the history of boats and shipping in China from the Neolithic period through a vast collection of images, documents, physical models, and maritime trade items. The Tung Chao Yung Exhibition Room, with vivid photographs, materials, artifacts, and realistic scenes, condenses the legendary life of Tung Chao Yung, one of the ‘Seven Kings of the World’s Shipping Industry,’ a transnational entrepreneur with an unwavering Chinese heart. The museum is closed all day on Mondays throughout the year; it is open from 09:00 to 16:30 on Tuesdays to Sundays, with specific business hours subject to the day’s opening status.
