Xunliao Bay is located in the southern part of Pingshan Town, Huidong, next to the Jinhaibay Avenue. Its seawater quality ranks among the best in Guangdong, making the bay quite famous. It is bustling every weekend, with many tourists coming from Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
The coastline of Xunliao Bay is quite long, stretching over 20 kilometers, dotted with numerous bays and beaches. There are public beaches such as Jinhaibay and Dezeyuan, as well as islands like Sanjiaozhou Island and Fengchi Island, and attractions like Mangrove Forest and Tianhou Palace.
The Mazishi Scenic Area is a more popular beach in Xunliao Bay, attracting a large number of visitors. For those who prefer tranquility, the bays near Nanhai Fishing Village are a good choice, frequented by locals with seawater quality comparable to Mazishi Scenic Area, although the beach quality is slightly inferior, it is less crowded.
Island vacations are similar, where you can stroll along the white sandy beaches, enjoying a leisurely mood; collect shells and sunbathe on the beach; or participate in the unique fishing trips at sea. Of course, you can also splash in the ocean, play and frolic in the waves, like a child.
Regarding accommodation, there are many hotels in Xunliao Bay, with the advantage that most of them offer a direct sea view, good location, and mature service facilities. There are various levels of hotels and guesthouses along the Bay Avenue. If you want to save a bit, you can consider staying in the homestays on Xunping Road, which, although not offering sea views, provide views of farmland and green hills, which are also pleasing to the eye, and it’s not far to walk to the bay.
For dining, there are many seafood stalls here with fresh offerings such as Salt and Pepper Shrimp, Ginger and Scallion Stir-fried Crab, Steamed Sea Fish, etc., allowing you to enjoy a hearty meal. If you need to buy seafood, you can go to the Xunliao Town market, which is a bit hard to find, so ask locals for directions. Fishermen usually return in the afternoon and sell their freshly caught seafood next to the market.
