Yan Ta, located along the Zengjiang River and beside the Guangshen Highway, is the only ancient tower still standing in the Zengcheng District and is protected as a municipal cultural heritage site in Guangzhou. Constructed in the Ming Dynasty, during the Wanli era in 1574, it stands two kilometers south of Licheng Town (now on the left side of the Zengtan Highway) on the Beishan Mountain, close to the rippling Zengjiang River.

The tower is a magnificent and spectacular structure with meticulous and ingenious design, entirely built from red stone. It has an exterior of seven stories and an interior of thirteen. Standing at a height of 32 meters, visitors can ascend directly from the base to the top of the tower. The tower body is an octagonal prism with windows on each floor, oriented towards the east, south, west, north, southeast, southwest, northeast, and northwest. It features dougong (bracket sets) and a corridor for touring the surrounding scenery.

At the top of the tower, there is a large ceramic pot for decoration, which shines brightly against the sky. Above the pot, eight iron chains resembling golden dragons are attached, each with a phoenix and a wind chime hanging from the neck of the dragon. In ancient times, as people sailed past on the river, from afar, they could look up and admire the dancing dragons and phoenixes, which glittered with a splendid radiance. The park is open all day from January 1st to December 31st.
