Yang Gong Causeway is roughly parallel to Su Causeway and is the only roadway among the three causeways of the West Lake. This long causeway is connected with the mountains around the West Lake. It was constructed under the supervision of Yang Mengying, the magistrate of Hangzhou in the Ming Dynasty. Later, due to the silting up of the West Lake, it gradually became land. In recent years, in order to restore the old appearance of the West Lake, the water area has been re-dredged, and Yang Gong Causeway has been restored. The greenery of Yang Gong Causeway is very good. Along the way, there are scenic spots such as the former residence of Gai Jiaotian, Guo Zhuang, Hangzhou Flower Nursery, and Maojia Bu. However, these scenic spots are relatively scattered. The six bridges on the causeway have large undulations and are called “bridge-rushing” by cyclists in Hangzhou. Timid cyclists always can’t help screaming when going downhill. Open all year round and open 24 hours a day.
