The Yangming Lake Scenic Area in Ganzhou (formerly Doushui Lake in Shangyou) is a provincial-level scenic area. It spans Shangyou and Chongyi counties. It is a large and rich water resource area in southern Jiangxi. The water area is 31 million square meters, and the forest area is 340,000 mu. Around the lake shore, there are more than 30 scenic spots such as waterfalls, Tieshan Pass, Lion and Elephant Mountain, Nine-Bend Scenic View, and Hakka folk customs. There are 427 lake bays of different shapes in the lake, and more than 40 islands in the center of the lake. Doushui Lake has evergreen green water. The vast water area is free from pollution. There are bays hidden in the lake, and harbors nested within the bays. There are lakes within the lake and islands within islands. There are as many as more than a thousand species of woody plants in the forestland in the lake, forming a natural southern tree museum. There are wild animals such as leopards, pangolins, pythons, golden cats, white cranes, roe deer, muntjacs, and musk deer inhabiting the forest. The islands scattered in the lake are lush and green, like emerald jewels, shining brightly and refreshing. Doushui Lake has a pleasant climate. The fresh air without pollution, coupled with a good ecological environment, makes people feel extremely comfortable when traveling in this clear water. Doushui Lake is located in Shangyou County in the west of Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province, in the middle reaches of the Shangyou River. The Shangyou River was historically known as Yijiangxi and Ninety-Nine Bends River. It is winding and tortuous, with clear and clean water. The total length is 198 kilometers. The Gannan Arboretum deep in the lake is known as the kingdom of subtropical plants. It is a natural natural museum. Now there are more than 1,700 species of woody plants planted on the island. Nearly 10,000 plant specimens have been collected. There are 52 kinds of world’s precious and endangered protected plants. Special pine, fir and bamboo forests, star anise forests, and fragrant camphor forests have been established. Peach Blossom Island and Plum Blossom Island have been established.
