Yangming Mountain National Forest Park is located within Shuangpai County, Yongzhou City. It boasts dense forests and clear streams, creating an extremely beautiful environment.
The park features five major wonders, including ten thousand acres of rhododendron flowers, a hundred thousand acres of bamboo sea, flowing springs and waterfalls, peculiar peaks and rocks, and a sea of clouds and fog. At the foot of the mountain, there are bamboo forests, and at the mid-levels, there are virgin secondary forests, making it an ideal place for leisure vacations, mountain climbing for fitness, and getting close to nature.
Most of the mountainous areas in Yangming Mountain National Forest Park are above one thousand meters in altitude, with the main peak, Wangfotai, reaching about 1600 meters. Visitors can climb to this point to enjoy a panoramic view.
From late April to early May each year is the best time to appreciate the rhododendron flowers, with vast fields of them covering the scenic area. The temperature in the mountains is slightly lower than on the plains, so even during summer visits, it is advisable to bring a jacket.
Opening hours are from May 1st to September 30th from 08:00 to 18:00; January 1st to April 30th from 08:00 to 17:30; October 1st to December 31st from 08:00 to 17:30.
