Yangpu Park was initially built in early 1957 and opened on January 24, 1958. It was originally farmland, ponds, and small residential villages. The first batch of land requisition of 12.47 hectares was used to build the park. The park area has been expanded five times successively to 22 hectares. The overall layout imitates the landscape of West Lake in Hangzhou. With water surface as the focus, garden buildings such as bridges, pavilions, corridors, and pergolas and plants form various scenic areas in the park. The whole park is divided into five tourist areas: Yuhu Scenic Area, Central Scenic Area, Animal Scenic Area, Amusement Scenic Area, and Peony Garden Scenic Area. After 2007, the Animal Scenic Area was cancelled. Opening hours: open all day throughout the year.
