Yanwo Ridge is located in the central part of Changjiang Li Autonomous County, more than 20 kilometers south of the county town of Shilu. The main peak has an elevation of 487 meters. In front of the ridge lies the Changhua River, and behind it is the Qixing Hot Spring. The ridge is adorned with verdant peaks, clear waters, and enchanting scenery. From a distance, Yanwo Ridge presents a different charm in each cardinal direction. Looking up from the north slope, it resembles a fierce tiger guarding the forest; from the south slope, it looks like a large frog squatting by the water; from the west slope, it appears as a rabbit nursing its young; and from the east slope, the green peaks and clear waters complement each other, creating an idyllic landscape.

Wangfo Rock: Upon ascending Yanwo Ridge, one can see a massive rock at the summit that resembles a human figure, known as the ‘Wangfo Rock’. Legend has it that an evil deity once came to the ridge, standing at the peak and pointing at anyone who passed below, causing immediate death. The local people lived in fear. After the Heavenly Emperor learned of this, he dispatched the God of Thunder to subdue the evil deity, turning it into a rock that stands here eternally to protect the villagers. Since then, the people below the ridge have lived in peace and prosperity.

Yan Cave: At the southern end of Yanwo Ridge, there is a large, round cave entrance below the cliffs, known as the Yan Cave. Thousands of swallows build their nests in the crevices of the rock wall. Every morning, swarms of swallows fly out of the cave to forage; as the sun sets, they return to their nests in large groups, creating a spectacular sight as they fly in unison, blocking out the sky.

At the foot of the western side of Yanwo Ridge, there is a small Li ethnic village. The villagers have a deep bond with the swallows and have always protected them, ensuring that the Yan Cave has never been disturbed.

Qixing Spring: Behind Yanwo Ridge, there is a hot spring with seven springs, known as the ‘Qixing Spring’. It features simple bathing facilities that can accommodate over 400 people daily. The Qixing Hot Spring is rich in sulfur minerals and is known for treating various skin diseases. With its comfortable water temperature, many people visit to bathe each year.
