Yanwu Bridge is located in the section from the Navy Pier of Xiamen Ring Road to Yanwu Road and Baicheng. It was opened to traffic in September 2003.
The bridge is built on the sites of the ancient Yanwu Pond and Yanwu Field. Facing the statue of Zheng Chenggong across the sea on the west side, so it was agreed to name the bridge with the local place name “Yanwu” related to Zheng Chenggong.
Yanwu Bridge is on the back sea of Xiamen University, spanning the sea and winding. At night, white lights will be on the bridge, looking like the third son of the Dragon King of the Sea.
During the day, when driving on the bridge, you will feel like walking on the sea. Let the sea breeze mess up your hair. Listening to the waves hitting the bridge piers, rolling up waves. If it is high tide, the sea water seems to submerge the bridge. The car speeds up, and it is more like flying.
Standing on the bridge, you can see Gulangyu Island on the opposite side, with lush trees and courtyard-style European villas dotted among them. It is a great view.
