Yanzhou Island Cultural Leisure Resort in Zhaoqing, Guangdong, is located in the downstream of the Xijiang Lingyang Gorge, south of the famous scenic area – Dinghu Mountain in Zhaoqing, in the middle of the river. It is a larger island in the 900-mile Xijiang River basin, with an area of about 6 square kilometers.
To the east of the island stands the Bao Gong Tower, which has a history of over 160 years; to the south lies the former residence of Chen Huanzhang, a Qing Dynasty scholar, overseas doctor, and imperial teacher, along with the Chen Family Ancestral Hall and Ligang Private School; to the west, there is a vast Golden Sand Beach, next to which are the Pianbi Temple and the Sixth Patriarch Temple; to the north, the village is orderly, with numerous Lingnan ancestral halls, and typical Lingnan folk customs such as the ‘Millennium Ancient Alleys’, ‘Century-old Houses’, ‘Mulberry Fish Ponds’, ‘Under the Banyan Tree’, and ‘Water Town Banana Forests’.
After years of development and construction, Yanzhou Island has become a large-scale resort integrating leisure vacation, Buddhist blessings, cultural creativity, pastoral sightseeing, farming experience, conference training, and outdoor expansion, offering comprehensive cultural tourism services. It is open all year round, 24 hours a day.
