The unique geographical location and superior natural conditions have nurtured a rich variety of wildlife and plant resources. Therefore, it is not only a ‘natural oxygen bar’ and ‘a place nurturing a hundred medicinal herbs’ but also a ‘natural wildlife park’. The medicine culture of Yao Wang Mountain is also very rich, with both legendary and historical elements. It is said that the divine farmer Shennong tasted a hundred herbs in the divine valley, refined elixirs in the stone forest, and saved the people with miraculous medicines.

Yao Wang Sun Simiao once used medicinal herbs and water from the mountain to treat the people’s diseases at Yao Wang Residence. Historical figures such as Liu Guangda from the Qin Dynasty, who was proficient in the theory of the five elements and six Qi, and Yang Jizhou, a master of acupuncture from the Ming Dynasty, have all collected Chinese medicinal herbs in the mountains. The legends of Shennong, Yao Wang, and Hua Tuo add a magical color to Yao Wang Mountain.
