The peak of Yashan National Forest Park is located 22.5 kilometers southeast of Qixia City, Shandong Province, with an altitude of 805.8 meters. It covers a total area of 10,140 hectares and is one of the high mountains on the Jiaodong Peninsula. Because its main peak is a huge rock standing upright and shaped like saw teeth, it is called ‘Sawtooth Yashan’, or simply ‘Yashan’. Yashan National Forest Park set up according to the mountain system is a multi-functional mountain natural ecological tourist area with an area of 10,140 hectares and a forest coverage rate of 93.2%. Here there is a’mountain flower’ mixed community. Around the ‘Tomb Sweeping Day’ every year, mountain apricot blossoms, mountain pear blossoms, mountain peach blossoms, mountain cherries, wild azaleas, Weigela florida, swan flowers and other’mountain flowers’ bloom one after another. The flowering period lasts for more than seven months, and the entire Yashan becomes a sea of flowers. There are national key protected tree species such as Fraxinus mandshurica, Liriodendron chinense, Tilia amurensis, Ginkgo biloba, and rare tree species such as Actinidia kolomikta, Betula chinensis var. utilis, and Phellodendron amurense. There is a large area of’metasequoia forest’ rarely seen in the north, and ancient chestnuts planted in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are also geological landscapes such as Laozhaiding, Laohutou, Laohuwo, Dazeigouding, Shishan, Yaquanling, Mashan, Wangmushan, and Lingshan. The Yashan area is a forest ecosystem type nature reserve mainly protecting the native place and distribution center of Pinus densiflora in China. It is a zonal forest vegetation with a large distribution area and relatively complete protection in China. The ecological vegetation of Yashan is well protected and is also called the back garden of Yantai City. Opening hours: This is a protected area and is not open to tourists.
