The full name of this paradise is ‘Yegu · Insect Adventure Creative Ecological Farm’, located in the village of Pingyao Tangbu. This place is a complete valley, with clear streams, bamboo slopes, and terraced fields, full of wild charm.
‘Yegu Insect Adventure is an ecological farm themed around insects, with the first phase of the park covering over 200 acres. The park’s theme is clearly defined, focusing deeply on the insect theme as the direction for future development, thus offering a unique advantage in insect ecological research.
“The goal is to let children learn scientific knowledge while having fun,” said Wu Li Xiong, a partner of the farm and a senior designer. Five years ago, he decided to create this large-scale insect paradise in Hangzhou, inspired by his son’s love for insect books and research. Later, he and two partners inspected places such as Moganshan and Xiazhu Lake, and finally settled in Pingyao, spending over 1000 days and nights to build this insect-themed parent-child paradise.
Moving forward along the path, with the sounds of insects and birds, you might encounter ‘Insect Adventure’ around a corner or behind a shrub—several-meter-tall praying mantises, three to four-meter-long centipedes, ants larger than fists, ladybugs bigger than pots, dung beetles larger than bulls, and more, including giant rare insects from South America and ancient times…;…; There are over 50 species, hundreds of large insect models that are both cool and quirky, many of which are connected to electronic bases, capable of moving and making sounds, making you feel like you are in an insect kingdom.The site’s advantages are prominent. There are hundreds of insect simulation models in the park that are lifelike, cool, and quirky. The ecological environment of the park is beautiful, with clear mountains and waters. There is a rich variety of live insects throughout the four seasons, making it convenient for insect breeding, observation, and specimen making, and other practical experience activities. Combined with agricultural activities and picking experiences, the activities are rich and suitable for family outings and vacations in the surrounding area!
Opening hours are all year round. From Monday, Wednesday to Sunday, it is open from 09:00 to 17:00. It is closed all day on Tuesdays. During New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day, it is also open from 09:00 to 17:00.
