The Yexiantower Tourist Scenic Area is located in the northeast of Miyun County, Beijing. The scenic area covers an area of 1150 mu and consists of two parts: Yexiantower mountain forest and Yexiantower Park. The main building in the scenic area, Yexiantower, also known as ‘Yeta Xian Deng’, was built in the Liao Dynasty. It has experienced many disasters and reconstructions in history. The Yexiantower we see now was rebuilt in 2001 and is known as one of the eight outer scenic spots of Yanjing.
The tower is about 12 meters high, with an octagonal plane. The tower body has two layers, upper and lower. The tower body has brick-carved false windows and brick-carved decorations, which are very exquisite. In addition to Yexiantower, there are also other landscapes in the scenic area, such as Longevity Pavilion, Puzhao Temple, Guanyin of Purifying Water, music fountain, Kuixing Pavilion, Sanxian Cave, meteorite, Grand Hall of Sakyamuni, pure water bottle, cultural wall, wishing pool, Auspicious Pavilion, Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas and so on.
