Yong’anxi, the mother river of Xianju, has a total length of 7.68 kilometers for the rafting section. Traditional bamboo rafts, a local specialty, are used as the means of transport, embodying the poetic scene of ‘a small bamboo raft drifts in the stream, with towering green mountains on both sides.’
Gliding down the river on a bamboo raft, one experiences both the calmness of flat waters and the thrill of rushing through rapids, escaping the hustle and bustle of the city to savor the gentle tranquility akin to water, the azure sky, and the distant mountains. The scenery along the banks offers a delightful pastoral view full of charm and interest. The dock, serving as the starting point for Yong’anxi rafting, is located in Ximen Village, Bulu Township, 8 kilometers away from Xianju County. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and with convenient transportation, the entire dock is built in a simple and elegant style, unique in its design, with pavilions, towers, and corridors arranged in an orderly fashion. The long corridors with flying eaves, red pillars, and blue tiles, along with the pebble-walled waiting halls, offer a refreshing experience. The dock’s orderly bamboo-style fences and well-maintained greenery make it an ideal place for tourists to wait and rest. Kuaihualin, situated in the middle section of the rafting route, is adjacent to Yong’anxi in the north and connected to a lush bamboo forest in the south. The forest is home to various species of birds, such as long-billed birds and egrets. It is a rare paradise with the fragrance of flowers and the songs of birds all year round, and it is also the only place along the rafting route where tourists can disembark to rest. The scenic area offers a variety of goods for sale, including snacks, tea, travel supplies, souvenirs, and seasonal fruits and agricultural products. Visitors can also experience the traditional foot-powered water wheel here. Opening times are from 08:00 to 17:00 during the summer season (May 1st to September 30th) and from 08:00 to 16:30 during the winter season (October 1st to April 30th). Admission ceases at 16:30 during summer and 16:00 during winter. Preferential policies include half-price for children under 1.2 meters in height, seniors aged 70 and above with valid identification, military personnel with officer IDs, and individuals with disability certificates.
