Yongchuan Museum is located at the southern foot of Tea Mountain and Bamboo Sea, to the east of Shennv Lake Park, and to the west of Changzhou Ancient City. The main building of the museum is an antique-style frame structure with a construction area of about 9,000 square meters. It is equipped with a landscape river channel about 600 meters long and three arch bridges across the river. Yongchuan Museum currently has more than 1,700 sets of movable cultural relics in its collection, nearly 5,000 pieces.

There are more than ten categories including stoneware, pottery, porcelain, jade ware, bronze ware, iron ware, and wooden ware. Among them, there are 9 national second-class cultural relics and 60 national third-class cultural relics. The cultural relics date from the Neolithic Age to modern times, and cultural relics of the Ming and Qing Dynasties are in the majority. Among the collection of cultural relics, the Neolithic stone axe, the Eastern Han portrait stone coffin, the Ming Dynasty Thousand Buddha Pagoda, the Ming Dynasty silver phoenix crown, and the carved stone railings of the Su Family Ancestral Hall in the Qing Dynasty are particularly precious.

They are exquisitely crafted, well-preserved, and vividly show the superb production skills and aesthetic tastes of ancient people. They have high historical, artistic, and scientific value. Yongchuan Museum is an important platform for displaying Yongchuan’s historical and cultural heritage and human environmental witnesses. In addition to the basic display of historical cultural relics, the museum also focuses on displaying natural exhibits mainly including the Upper Yongchuan Dragon and lycopodium fossils, and shows the charm of Yongchuan as the hometown of Chinese calligraphy – the calligraphy and painting art works represented by Chen Zizhuang, thus showing Yongchuan’s profound historical and cultural heritage and unique charm.
