Yongfu Taiwan Cherry Tea Garden is located in Houyu Village of Yongfu Town and Lizhuang Village of Taiwan Yuanshan Villa in Zhangping City. The main cherry blossom varieties in Yongfu include Chinese Red, Hihan Ying, Yunnan Ying, Somei Yoshino, Peony Ying, Fujian Mountain Ying, and more, with a total of 42 varieties. The blooming period is approximately from late January to mid-March each year (based on the actual blooming period of that year), with different varieties of cherry blossoms blooming one after another.
The first wave of blooming mainly consists of red Hihan Ying, Chinese Red, Mist Ying, Eight-Layer Ying, and Peony Ying; the second wave is primarily pink Yunnan Ying and white Somei Yoshino; the third wave will feature pink Songyue Ying, Guanshan Ying, Puxianxiang Ying, and Imperial Yoshino Ying, among others. In 2015, nearly 100,000 cherry trees with a diameter of more than 8 centimeters were planted in tea gardens and cherry gardens in Yongfu. Additionally, Yongfu has established two contiguous cherry breeding bases covering hundreds of acres, planting more than 2.2 million cherry seedlings. Yongfu boasts a complete range of cherry varieties, including Hihan Ying, Chinese Red, Yunnan Ying, Yoshino Ying, Eight-Layer Ying, Fujian Mountain Ying, and 42 other varieties. In 2015, cherry blossoms of various varieties were blooming in succession, with vermilion, pink, and snow-white colors adorning the entire Yongfu region with a splendid display. Chinese cherry blossoms are beautiful, and Zhangping’s spring is when they bloom. Compared to other regions, Yongfu cherry blossoms have a significant advantage in blooming time, which is roughly around the beginning of spring each year (end of January to early February) to mid-to-late March (based on the actual blooming period of that year). In contrast, other well-known cherry gardens in China either bloom in November or December or after March. Therefore, the vibrant blooming of Yongfu cherry blossoms during the Spring Festival is unique nationwide, adding festive cheer and becoming a popular choice for people to enjoy spring outings and赏花 during the Spring Festival holiday.
