The Yonghe Gate Hall was built in 1696 (the 33rd year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi). It was originally the main gate of Prince Yong’s Mansion. In 1744 (the ninth year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong), after being converted into a temple, it became the Heavenly Kings Hall and was called the ‘Yonghe Gate Hall’. In the center, there is a statue of Budai (Cloth-bag Monk). On both sides, there are statues of the Four Heavenly Kings: the Eastern Guardian King holding a pipa; the Southern Growth King holding a sword; the Western Wide-eyed King holding a water snake; the Northern Multitasking King holding a precious banner. Behind the hall, there is a statue of Skanda, the Dharma Protector.
